We can handle commercial, industrial and institutional projects of any size, including design/build, plan and spec, and projects requiring custom sheet metal fabrication.

Metal fabrication is the process of making structures and formations from raw metal. Fabrication techniques, such as cutting, drilling, welding, etc., are used in manufacturing metal products.
Sheet metal fabrication is when you create a metal formation using various techniques.
Usually, metal sheets are merged to create a more extensive final product. To combine these smaller pieces, processes like welding make a high-quality finished product that creates various products in all shapes and sizes.

Whether designing or fabricating the metal product, a metal fabrication company will specialize in at least one of the techniques involved in the fabrication process to get the job done precisely and efficiently.

Every project and order is different, but usually, they use the following techniques in the process.
Designing
Different companies have different ways they design and different software. However, at Aston Precision, we always ask customers for their preferences before we begin. SolidWorks is the software we use to design. It is a very effective and helpful system.
Programming
When the design has been perfected, it is into a program that can be understood by machinery that creates products. Parts are drawn and then put into 2D form onto a metal sheet, ensuring that material application is maximized.
Cutting
The laser cutting process begins when the machine has been set to work. Lasers are one of the most precise ways to cut sheet metal material, as they follow the programmed design and easily cut through the material.
Punching
Many factors need specific perforations or forms, such as ribs, louvres, or countersinks. For this, a CNC Turret punching machine uses specific tools to “hit” the metal sheet and either perforate or shape it precisely.
Bending
The bending process, known in the industry and CNC folding, is a practice that can be completed by various machines, like a manual press brake, an automated panel bending machine or a robotic bend cell. Each machine forms the part by clamping the sheet metal between a top tool and die, applying pressure to gain the anticipated curvature.
Welding
Many types of welding techniques can be used when working with sheet metal. This includes MIG welding, TIG welding, spot welding, projection welding, etc.
Assembly
The assembly step can differentiate depending on the difficulty of the final product. It can go from manageable weld assemblies to complex electrical integrations, including wiring loom, PAT testing and hardware installation. Some assemblies have a necessity of insertion, which is the process of pressing a stud, nuts, or other components to secure the
product together.
Powder Coating
The final step in most scenarios is powder coating. The powder coating process is a practice of applying an electrostatic powder to a charged metal component before curing at heat to create a durable coating.
